No Therapy, Brainspotting, or Hypnotherapy will work or be successful unless the client wants it to be. As much as they are willing to join in the journey and own their participation in the process is the same degree to which they will experience change and a better life. Any coercion or pressure by the therapist will only create resistance, so there must be a strong therapeutic bond of trust and a safe, nonjudgmental environment in which the client can become vulnerable, let down their defenses, and experience something different than what they have always experienced, a new and better way.

I propose that if we as humans were not separated from a personal relationship with God when Adam and Eve disobeyed God to satisfy themselves - then we would still have had a spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical connection to Him in utero, from birth, and beyond that would always be present - and therefore we would not have experienced fear (1st Timothy 1:7). This means we would not have to split into a false self or need to conform to this world (Romans 12:2) - therefore we would have no Shadow Selves hidden away in our unconscious mind.

John 16:33: “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Galatians 5: 17- 21 = For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. (The World = Living in/by the FLESH - those things that we have learned and internalized apart from God, and lifestyle according to our own resources and self-effort).

Galatians 5:22-25 = But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

We are constantly trying to decipher who we truly are through the reflection of good and bad in our environments that have created and supported our dysfunctional selves.

In the world we are in a place of oppression that could be compared to the slaves who were kept in bondage against their will, and given a role or identity that was not who they really were; but God said to them that He had a place for them that He had promised.

God said to trust Him and He would give them an identity — God’s identity for us = POIEMA: (Ephesians 2:10) God has made us who and what we are, and in our union with Christ Jesus, He created us for a life purpose of good deeds, which he has already prepared for us to do from before our birth.
